What a great post AJ! Really hits home with me....
Something I've really struggled with pertaining to the Quaker church (mainly the worship music times) is there seems to be such a lack of joy involved. In my experiences, there seem to be such a somber feeling in the room. No smiling while singing. Almost a sadness while singing. It seems to me that God wants us to REJOICE in him while we sing his praises! To be HAPPY that we are in such a place of community with fellow lovers of our beautiful Jesus!
Joy to me looks like a smile on the face, maybe a hug to our neighbor, an overall light-spirited attitude.
I would LOVE to be able to dance and rejoice as friends of God, but not so sure how that would be accepted, especially in the church. But shoot, let me tell you, I have plenty of joy here at home, Liv and I dance up a storm daily...hmm....gets me thinking, maybe we should get together for a little dance party of our own?? It's funny how the kiddos get our feet a dancin, huh? hahah
