That's scary, AJ. We've been pretty lucky around our house with electrical sockets. (Now, ask Michelle some time about Brynn. With a paring knife. In her mouth.)

But just the other day when I was replacing bulbs in a string of Christmas lights, I had a similar, though not as dangerous, happening. A small child (3) was helping me screw in bulbs and I would plug it in to test. After one test, she told me. "My finger hurts." - "What?" - "My finger. It tickled. And now it hurts a little." - "Where was your finger?" - "In there." as she points to an empty socket. ":-O" followed by admonishments and teachings. It could have been much, much worse.

Ask Judah if <a href="http://youtube.com/watch?v=A1ZbdCD1c08" rel="nofollow">this looks familiar</a>.

I don't suppose this was Monday, the same day that technically mail wouldn't have even come because it was Veteran's Day? Because isn't that just how it goes?

How many times in our home have there been tears and gnashing of teeth to get out the door and then the store (or whatever) is closed randomly or doesn't have what we need, etc...? And all the while there is some "bigger lesson" to be learned that has everything to do with interpersonal/parenting/fruits of the spirit-type lessons?

(Lately for me, I have decided just to call such said places first so maybe I can avoid the bigger lesson. Hmmm.)

Anyway. I'm thankful for those angels right there with you. Happy days to moms of three year olds!

Your mom probably remembers when her little sister stuck a key in a socket while staying in a motel and the motel people had to get the door open to a freaked out ~3 year old. Quite the drama for a vacation jaunt.

It may be of some consolation said little sister still lives and is freaked a bit out by electrical shocks! Judah will learn--he's such a bright one--and I am really *really* thankful he did not get the shock I *still* remember lo these ~49 years later. Angels guard us all but some of us need extras, eh?
