hey, I am sure some of you are familiar with the works of John MacArthur..... He's pretty black & white about church politics & this time around he's letting people know how he feels about the emerging church. I saw a preview here: http://buzzplant.com/truthwar/ecard1/ . I have yet to read it but am kind of interested in hearing what he has to say about it.

The emerging church is losing important biblical values & that is a problem.

Truth is what will set us free, not hatred for tradition.

I see this movement as rebellion.

Dave: Of course I edit: I'm an editor - it's what I do. You don't think I actually fully disclose everything in my stories, like what was really said when I found out Judah ate seven peanut butter cups at my sister-in-law's house at Christmas while we were eating lunch or the things I *really* think during board meetings, do you?

And as for the book, the only way I'm going to be able to get to that is if you come over to watch Judah while I'm reading. If you think you're game . . . :)

Robin: As long as we're somehow deconstructive in our lending policies, I think the pomo crowd would totally be up for it. Maybe a big label slapped on the front of every book saying "this is the author's truth, subjective though it may be." Heh heh.

Dave, you are the man! I saw your name twice. Of course, that's cheating, unless one of them is for Judy. But I give you an "A" for effort.

THE BOOK is "Confidentiality for Dummies: the best way to selectively apply holding your tongue for your own benefit and profit". Send me $20 bucks and I'll make it up...errr, send it to you.

OK, we have good news and bad news here.
Good News:
-I saved $5 of fund drive money because Joe is giving Aj the hot book.
-There is a little less guilt in my life because I already signed up for Gregg's basketball pool. Twice.
-Gregg finally got credit for his creative fund raising idea.
-When Aj quotes a private email she edits out certain phrases. In this case, my words "Sir..." that could have got me in a little trouble.

Bad News:
-I have to buy another book now that Gregg has said "...every confidentiality ethic in THE BOOK". BTW, which one is "THE BOOK?
-Sadly, I must point out the obvious. Aj, why are you avoiding a commitment to read the Dobson book?

Robin: You're totally in on the list. That could be the next best invention - Netflix for books. Maybe it'd help Dave plow through his pile.

Gregg: Harsh words from a pacifist - I think I'm scared to enter your basketball pool. Actually, I thought it was too late: I'll have to go back and actually read the details of the email rather than thinking, "Oh, isn't it quaint that Gregg thinks I know anything about sports other than that the basketball "thing" happens sometimes in Boise because I remember in 4th grade when some kids got to skip school cause their dads took them," and somehow I don't think that kind of info will earn me any points.
