ETC Journal Excerpts: Travel 02.05.2006

February 9th, 2006 by Aj

Iím going to write subject-driven posts regarding the Emerging Theological Conversation at some point, but for now I thought Iíd share some of my ìold fashioned notes.î Notes I add will be posted in [brackets].

ìSo here I am sitting in the airport terminal. Iím going to Yale! Well, Iím going to Denver . . . and then Minnesota, but eventually Iím going to go to Connecticut. . .

ìIt was hard leaving Judah: I feel like Iíve left part of my soul behind – thereís a string that gets pulled tighter and thinner as I get farther away. . .

ìNobodyís here yet: I wonder when they left Newberg. [That would be fifteen minutes before I got to the airport, i.e., I sat myself for a longtime.]

ìMom and Dad are excited to take care of Judah – weíll see how theyíre doing once I get back. I think theyíll be okay. Iím gonna miss my baby. :(

ìI think God is smiting me, though: there are little kids ALL over the place. And Iím annoyed: how bad am I?!!? [Seeing as how I was those folks a few weeks before.] I was looking forward to some time by myself – of course it wouldnít happen. :)

ìI wonder who Iíll meet. I wonder what all weíll do. I wonder what will excite me and piss me off. I wonder how tired Iíll get. I wonder where Iíll encounter God.

ìI hope my luggage fits. . .

ìStill no one here.

ìSuperBowl Sunday. Jasonís supposed to go over to Uncle Kyleís and eat his weight in bean dip with Matt. Silly, soon to be stinky boys.

ìStill no one . . .î
